Version 1.0.0-alpha

The 1.18 Update

Welcome to Firmalife for 1.18! Some stuff is new, some is missing, a lot has changed. I'm still finalizing how our documentation will work, but JEI should take you most of the way there. Here is a non exhaustive list of stuff that is different from 1.12:

  • Added Cellars, made with Sealed Bricks.
  • Redid beehives to add bee breeding. This is still heavily WIP, so it may not work just right
  • Lots more focus on jars this time around, including making fruit preserves
  • Cheese must be in a cellar to age
  • Climate stations are now just one block again, and help operate cellars as well as greenhouses
  • Added a new metal, stainless steel, which will be used in greenhouses.
  • Greenhouse tiers are now decided by the greenhouse's material! Greenhouses can be made from: Iron, Copper, Treated Wood, Stainless Steel. The greenhouse blocks will weather with time.
  • Any crop can be added to any planter via datapack
  • Greenhouses now have NO specific shape requirements. They only have to be an enclosed area made of the same greenhouse block.
  • Ovens are now split into a bottom and top oven. Oven walls were removed. Use brick blocks, stone, or chimneys to seal the oven.
  • Chimneys are now optional, but are used to prevent smoke from spilling everywhere. Put one directly behind your oven to get the benefits of a chimney!
  • Added the iron composter, a faster composter
  • Added the mixing bowl, a way of mixing foods. See JEI
  • Added some new jack o' lantern variants
  • Pumpkins and melons are in base TFC now, so we don't add them anymore
  • Nuts aren't in the game right now. I don't know if I will bring them back.
  • Added pies and other foods
  • Ovens are now OPTIONAL for cooking food. It just applies a decay modifier
  • Added Seed Balls, which you can throw to spread Butterfly Grass, which will eventually turn into fresh herbs!
