boon appears to be semi-dormant, they haven't released santhosh-tekuri/boon#23 which is blocking #11. jsonschema looks like it's now 2020-12 compliant and is much more actively maintained.

FWIW I use jsonschema in https://github.com/stac-utils/stac-rs and it's ... fine? I don't know if they've done better with async support in the recent versions yet (need to check that out) but that doesn't come into play w/ this repo
