Customized Pelican development environment for static website

Local installation

Requirements

• Local installation of Python 2.7.x or Python 3.3+
• pip, for Python 2.x or 3.x
• virtualenv, for Python 2.x or 3.x (optional)

Installation steps

1. Install needed Python libraries with pip: sudo pip install pelican Markdown typogrify ghp-import
2. git clone --recursive [email protected]:dataramblers/dataramblers.github.io-src.git
3. cd dataramblers.github.io-src

Deployment

pelican content -o output -s pelicanconf.py
ghp-import output
git push [email protected]:dataramblers/dataramblers.github.io.git gh-pages:master

There is also a utility script in the root folder: ./publish2gh.sh
