Merging despite the Windows failure to get forward. The Windows failure likely needs a port of to 8.20 |

Since I anyway can't do the "please pick" issues today, I decided to try to fix the Windows issue before merging. |

Merging - the remaining Windows issues will be fixed in a separate step. |
