Babies and Children is a Rimworld mod that adds children and childcare to the game. It does not add pregnancy functionality, it only provides children functionality which is what pregnancy mods missing.
⭐️ Adds cribs for baby, toddler and children.
👚 Onesies and beanies for babies and toddlers.
⭐️ Children appear in caravans, raids, quests etc. You can make them appear less often if you enable 'Rarer Children' in the mod settings. You can also change minimum age they can appear. (Default: 10)
⭐️ Adds childcare, colonists take care of babies and toddlers.
⭐️ An interaction (WIP): children, toddlers can play games with each other. (toggleable)
⭐️ Make children and teenagers watch adults to improve their skills. You can assign a Mentor and they prioritize or only watch their mentor's work.
⭐️ Adds stillbirth chance. (adjustable)
🤱 Mothers can breastfeed.
⚡️ Children grow faster: adjustable growth rate for each child stages.
🧸 Toys for children. Children will be sad without toys. (will be toggleable in the future)
⭐️ Children and teenagers scale. You can turn it off for each life stage for each race in race editor (last pic).
👽 Humanoid Alien Races support: alien children are supported. Not all of them may work properly. In that kind of case, feel free to ask for support in bugs and incompatibilities discussion.
👽 Customizable settings like custom textures and sounds for alien race children. Alien Races customization.
⭐️ Adds 4 different child stages: Baby, toddler, child, teenager.
*Length of stages written below are only for humans. Alien children length of stages may vary.
Babies(0-2) can't walk they will stay in their cribs until they grow into toddlers.
Toddlers(2-5) can walk. They can't do any job so they will just wander around or play with other kids.
Children(5-14) are capable of work but has moving, manipulation penalty etc. They want toys or they get upset and they can play too.
Teenagers(14-18) doesn't have anything different than adults. (suggestions are welcome for more content.)
