v0.7.0-beta.1
Hello,
I am happy to finally be able to release the first beta of v0.7.0 after a year! v7 will be the first version of the Go rewrite and is particularly exciting for that reason.
No doubt that this is still an incomplete release, and that rewriting the whole project in an almost radically different language was a bad idea, as it led to exhaustion and caused old contributors to move away, either due to the new language or because they didn't know how to contribute to the rewrite whose plan was entirely only in my mind...
The reason I am releasing this pre-release version is to have a common mutual ground for all of us to be able to collaborate on. Do you want to improve something? Go for it! Want to fix some bugs? I can assure you that it won't be "rewritten" in a month.
Currently magneticod seems to have problems with trawling and especially downloading the torrent metadata, and is far far behind of its Python version (v0.6.0); yet, it also has a far better architecture where things are clearly separated and boundaries are well defined, so I believe our efforts will pay well off in the future.
Thanks for waiting so long and everything else,
Bora
