Releases: bleonard252/bodacious
Pre-release 0.9.0
Changes since 0.8.1
- Playlists!
- Search! (note: playlists are not yet findable in search, expect that in the next update)
- Indexing MP3 files will now be much faster!
- A setting that hides artists only featured in other albums. Find this setting in Settings > Personalization > "Only show album artists".
- Added a back button and a "BODACIOUS" label to desktop/tablets.
- Several bug fixes, including:
- Play Next not actually playing next
- Add to Queue adding in reverse
- "Now Playing" able to open too many times
Google Play users who did not get 0.8.1 will also now get the About page and several bug fixes, including one where the system Back button would exit the app.
Known Issues
- On Linux, shuffle-playing (and shuffling in general) appear to be broken in unknown ways.
Full Changelog: v0.8.1...v0.9.0
Pre-release 0.8.1
This release is primarily aimed at F-Droid, so it will not have a Play Store version (also considering 0.8.0 was just finally approved for the Play Store). The About page will be in the next Play Store version, which will come with more features.
Changes:
- About page added
- Fixed back button bug (only affected Android)
- Build-chain related changes that should make F-Droid reproducible builds possible
Please note bodacious-fdroid.apk
does NOT have network features (Spotify, Last.fm, etc). I personally recommend the standard bodacious.apk
, which is exactly the same except with network permission and API keys.
Pre-release 0.8.0
IMPORTANT: When first opening the app after this update, the app database will be reset. Your music will stay intact. This should never happen again and I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
This release comes with many bugfixes, as well as these changes:
- On Linux: MPV is now required to use Bodacious.
- Clear button in the queue: does exactly what you'd expect
- Now Playing screen now selects its colors differently
- For the technical, Linux only: The audio player backend has been changed from VLC to MPV. It seems to work much better and makes development much easier.
- For the technical: the Errors screen has been replaced with a working Logs screen
Pre-release 0.7.0
This is an in-development release that is definitely still missing key features.
What we have:
- Add folders to your library.
- Play individual songs, all songs by an artist (the order is a bit strange at the moment, but it's supposed to be release order), all songs in an album (sorted by track number or alphabetically by filename)
- Add to queue/Play next
- Remove from queue
- Notifications and Bluetooth device support (Android)
- Last.fm scrobbling (opt-in)
- Discord presence (Linux, opt-in)
- Last.fm & Spotify library information lookups (opt-in)
- Some album and artist metadata
What we're missing:
- Equalizer/volume
- (Synchronized) lyrics
- The about screen with all of its version and licensing glory
- Manually editing stuff
- The Behavior page in Settings
- Most of the Personalization page in Settings
- Excluding specific stuff
- Streaming playback (YouTube/Spotify) -- but don't expect this one for a long time as there are also licensing issues to figure out
- Playlists
- a ton of stuff I haven't thought of yet
The Android build here might be slightly different from the 0.7.0 build currently rolling out on Google Play, and is not signed with the same key so you can't update the 0.6.0 Google Play build with the 0.7.0 GitHub one.
