Couple of things I noticed while reading the code.
We could use https://docs.rs/cpufeatures to detect AES support on bare metal x86-64, but it is unlikely to be needed for practical use cases and when we do there will hopefully me rust-lang/rfcs#2725 implemented, doesn't seem to be worth complicating the code right now.
