Camera rotation center to mouse cursor / model / face #251
Comments
A +1 one from me (was about to write exactly this feature request and I noticed one is already open) To perhaps better illustrate the benefit of this feature, here's a video showing how easy it becomes to control the focus even over large distances. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRVEIcNjAxo Currently I'm missing this level of view control when using ArmorPaint. According to https://projects.blender.org/blender/blender/src/tag/v2.90.0/source/blender/editors/space_view3d/view3d_edit.c#L3328 Blender centers the view to the z-depth position under the mouse cursor. If it doesn't hit any valid targets, it merely pans the view center to current mouse position and doesn't do any zooming. |
Another +1! I'm painting a large model myself and this would be incredibly useful. |
Another +1. This fix is very very important. |
another +1, this would make this program much easier to use |
Another +1, this would be so nice to have! |
Finally starting to work on this as part of #1823. Thanks for all the posts and sorry it took so long. |
It would be very useful in my opinion, to have a key to set the rotation center of the view to the surface of the model under the mouse cursor. It would make painting more comfortable if an arbitrary rotation center could be choosen on the surface of the model.
In Blender you can do this with alt+middle click for example:
