Would it be open sourced upon completion?
My only hesitation is that there are other marketplaces that have implemented auctions but with no support from genesis funds, and that an established platform with a significant market advantage should be able to add features own its own.

What about making it an open auction protocol that anyone can implement. That way there wouldn't be a wall garden for the auctions and then everyone could just compete via a better interface for the exact same auctions.

The proposal has multiple milestones and it has not mentioned how much it will cost to reach each milestone.
Milestone-based grants must submit a proposal for one milestone at a time.

Distributed Finance raised $2,500,000 and acquired Rand Gallery (R&)

https://news.fintech.io/post/102hvtr/distributed-finance-raises-2-5m-in-seed-funding

R& is now asking for $47,000 from the community ALGO to build out a basic feature for their platform?

How about your team builds something innovative for #Algorand instead of relying on the AF to subsidize your attempt at NFT feature parity? 🤣 This is disgraceful.

Reasons NOT to provide funding

  • R& has the existing team and funds to build this on their own $2,500,000
  • auctions exist on many other NFT platforms
  • auctions are not innovative
  • xGov shouldn't fund feature parity amongst NFT platforms
  • R& developers have no experience with algorand smart contracts
  • Security audits would still be required past the $47,000

Reasons to provide funding

  • R& is the biggest marketplace with the most volume and company funds

This makes the proposal innovative. @KillerGasy may be u can think of rewriting the proposal this way.
