Story line

Spike was always a good boy, reminded of it every single day by his best friend. They were inseparable, sharing countless walks and games of fetch. One day, they went on what felt like the best walk ever, strolling along Spike's favorite path and visiting the big park. But in an instant, everything changed. His best friend was gone. At first, Spike couldn’t comprehend what had happened. But as time passed, he grew wiser and stronger. Spike came to understand that the world was no longer the place he once knew. The humans were gone. Now, the animals were all that remained, wandering a world left behind. Everything was different. What had once been quiet neighborhoods and busy parks were now ruled by new kingdoms of animals. Packs of dogs roamed free, herds of deer claimed the forests, and birds watched from the skies, their sharp eyes the rulers of the air. Spike was no longer just a companion—he was part of this new order.

Dialogue

The dialogue in order of the screens.

  1. "Spike was always a good boy and loved his family."
  2. "He used to love to play fetch and loved balls"
  3. "But in an instant, everything changed."
  4. "At first, Spike could not comprehend what had happened."
  5. "He travelled all over the world, looking for his family"
  6. "As he grew stronger, he realised, the world had changed."

Implementation

Using the StoryScreen class loads the textures (images) above. You can find this class in com/csse3200/game/screens/StoryScreen.

Testing

Visual Testing was undertaken for the Bird Story. This tests included:

  • Backsplashes follows the order of above photos.
  • Dialogue follows the order and links with splash.
  • Buttons on screen work as intended (i.e next, back and skip).
