Current Release

We are happy to announce the release of 0.1.0!

0.1.0 is a maintenance release readying Ubiq for future scalability and audio features. Our next feature release will be 0.2.0.

Upcoming

0.2.0

0.2.0 is our next feature release.

Our objectives for 0.2.0 are:

  1. Perform large scale stress testing and make performance improvements to the messaging layer
  2. Replace the Properties Dictionaries implementation with a delta/transaction based system
  3. Revise the Rooms System with a member/observer model to support large numbers of users with spatial partitioning
  4. Add hand animation to the default Avatars

The expected release-date for 0.2.0 is mid-November.

0.3.0

0.3.0 will be our next maintenance release.

Our objectives for 0.3.0 are:

  1. Scoped object ownership
  2. Filter rooms presented by the server by tag
  3. Full support for SteamVR
  4. Samples showing how to integrate FinalIK
  5. Samples showing how to create a browser-based Peer

Long Term Roadmap

Our upcoming medium term goals are:

  1. 3D Spatialised Audio with the Unity Audio System
  2. Replace the Ubiq XR framework with the Unity XR Interaction framework
  3. Large-scale spatial partitioning with automated Rooms traversal
  4. Support for mixed-reliability network protocols
  5. Pure C# procedural client samples for demonstrating how to feed in data from devices such as sensors
