RealTimeChat

RealTimeChat is a lightweight real-time chat application designed for easy deployment and usage. It allows users to communicate instantly with each other over the web. Built with Node.js, Express.js, Socket.io, and MongoDB, RealTimeChat offers a seamless chatting experience with features like user authentication, persistent message storage, and a user-friendly interface.

Installation

Follow these steps to install and run RealTimeChat on your local machine:

  • Define the following environment variables in the .env file:
    MONGODB_URI=your_mongodb_uri
    SESSION_SECRET=your_session_secret
