Not a real review, just some general thoughts:

There has been some effort to reduce the content of this guide, see also #255. The problem is, it is already pretty huge, but a lot of it is necessary, so we can't easily strip it down. But I would be really careful to add more and especially consider whether people will actually read it. Your part is generic enough, so it does not require constant updating, so should be ok. But I find it more important to reduce and update existing content.

To get people motivated to contribute (if that is the intention), I think other methods would be more effective. If people read the About page, they are already pretty motivated 😉

(Also, I am guilty of adding a lot of content, including stuff from the Wiki. As of today I would be more restrictive and concise.)

Thanks. I definitely do not have the historical background. And I tend to do too much long-form writing. So your feedback is very helpful.

I wonder if a list like this could still be helpful. We have this section:

# Other ways to contribute
[...]
* General information about the various [Teams & Committees](https://typo3.org/community/teams/)
* General information on how you can [Contribute and Get Involved](https://typo3.org/community/contribute/)

How about a bullet point there

* Why contribute?

and then make this list above its own page. We could even orphan it so that it doesn't get its own navigation menu item (which I wanted to avoid in first place, and this was the only place where I would see it fitting)
