Pharo By Example 5.0

After years of hard work we managed to updated Pharo By Example 1.4 which was the original book to Pharo version 5. So this is called "Pharo By Example 5" or "PBE5" for short.

Summary

The book is far from perfect but I think we reached a 80% to justify a release. The book is an extensive tutorial into Pharo version 5, it focus to a wide range of people from the beginner coder to professional coders.

Prerequisites

There is not requirement for reading this book other than a very basic understanding of Object Orientated Programming.

Versioning

You may notice that the release says "5.0" and not "5" because obviously they will be several releases till version "6.0".

I hope you enjoy reading the book as we enjoyed making it. I want to thank the authors of PBE1.4 without their hard this task would have been 10 times harder. I also like to thank Stef and Damien for their massive contribution and everyone else from those that contributed big to those that contributed small. Every kind of help however small is always important.

Future Goals

Of course our goal is to fully port this book to the latest version and keep it updated . However I think it is also important to restructure the book and make it much easier to read even for those that know nothing about programming
