Part Description
LND 7317 sensor “Pancake” Halogen-Quenched Geiger-Mueller (GM) tube, 2”; Effective diameter 1.75” (45 mm); Mica window density 1.5-2.0 mg/cm2. Capable of detecting Alpha, Beta and Gamma radiation. Comes with Medcom iRover controller and HV (high voltage) supply.
Alarm LED Activates when radiation level meets the warning level you've set. The level ranges from 0 to 99,999 CPM (maximum to about 1mSv/h dose rate).
Dual CPU from Atmel/Arduino The Arduino Fio board is based on the Atmel AVR ATmega328P microcontroller, and uses open-source software.
OLED display 128×64 high-contrast. Supports two OLED display sizes.
Blue indicator LED Indicates when a nuclide is detected.
Red indicator LED Indicates whether the device is in recording mode (bGeigie mode) or alarm mode (xGeigie mode).
Orange indicator LED Indicates charge status.
Buzzer Can be switched off.
Battery status indicator For 2000mAh 3.7V 7.4Wh Lithium Polymer battery** (Li-Po) that powers about 40 hours of nonstop operation in bGeigie mode. Mini-USB rechargeable.
GPS module -165 dBm sensitivity, 10 Hz updates, 66 channels.
SD card 2Gb micro-SD card. Parameters configurable through settings file on micro-SD card (according to Safecast API geo-tagged logging format, customizations, etc.)
3.5 mm Apple audio data communication cable and jack Sends pulses to the Safecast iOS app.
Real-time clock
Pelican 1010 micro case Clear plastic, hinged cover and strong latch. Water-resistant (not for submerging), crushproof, and dust-proof when closed. Removable liner (in yellow, black, blue, or red). Comes with a strap, plastic buckle and carabiner (spring hook) for easy carrying or secure mounting on a vehicle. (Compact size fits some bicycle cases.)
Function button User assignable.
Wireless option BLE-enabled Bluetooth, 802.15.4 or Wi-Fi supported through Xbee socket. Sends data wirelessly to bGeigie Ninja or smartphone app. Wireless components not included in this kit.

Features

Modes

The bGeigie Nano has three modes.

bGeigie Mode xGeigie Mode iGeigie Mode
Mobile radiation sensor logging with display indicators for CPM and µSv/h, number of satellites locked, altitude (m), distance traversed (km), total duration of measurement (h:m), and time stamp (dd:hh:mm:ss) Geiger counter (no logging) with display indicators for µSv/h dose-rate (Cs137), max dose-rate, dosimeter, CPM, Bq/m2 (Cs137), time stamp, and alarm LED iPhone-compatible output for the Safecast iOS app that displays dose rate, maps data, and uploads data to the Safecast API in real time
  • Note that there is a hot switch for switching between bGeigie (logging) and xGeigie (no logging) modes. Data recording will be paused in xGeigie mode.
