EN: Security
Since Part-DB is installed on a Web server, anyone who can reach the Web server has access to your Part-DB. You can run Part-DB on your own private (internet-shielded or sufficiently secure) network. By default, all devices connected to the network will then have access to Part-DB. You can also install Part-DB on a public web server, so that even anyone with Internet access has access to Part-DB!
In order to protect Part-DB from unauthorized access, you should protect the directory with a password. It is best to do this on the server side with. htaccess. You can find instructions on how to do this here: http://www.grammiweb.de/anleitungen/ka_htaccess.shtml
A strong administrator password is also important for the secure operation of Part-DB. This should always be at least 8 characters long and contain letters, numbers and special characters.
If damage of any kind arises due to missing or improper security settings, the developers or other project participants cannot be held liable in any way. Neither shall any liability be assumed for damages caused by software errors in Part-DB or any other software.
Regardless of how secure your Part-DB installation is, you should make regular backups of the database and uploaded files.
