This was inspired by the speech Bill Gates gave in 2018, and propelled by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The objective of this open source organisation is to collaboratively create a global pandemic alert system. Where individuals, institutions, governments are able to obtain real time information on various data points. This will allow the world to react and predict future epidemics, pandemics better and sooner.
We aim to save lives.
The system should accept various data points, and persist those data. The system should present this information to the public. The system should automatically use the data collected to determine certain trigger points for levels of alert.
Our aim is to use simple, straightforward, abundant technology as much as possible, so we can access the vast pool of talent with the simplest maintenance possible. The initial technology we've used are:
- nodejs + express for server
- mongodb for data
- reactjs for UI
This is the core of the system. All features of the system will be exposed via RESTful APIs. This is where one could register for an account, authenticate and log an event all via APIs. More on Federation
This is the visualisation of the system, where one could use a web based user interface to interact with the Federation system.
We will be connecting these repos to a cloud infrastructure for continuous integration.
