Herbs

Herbs are an essential part of Roots.

Most recipes for creating spells, for performing rituals or for crafting magical items require herbs in one form or another. Indeed, spells themselves require herbs be provided through a component pouch in order to power the spell.

Some herbs can simply be found by searching tall grass, such as wildroot, or scraping moss from suitable stone surfaces, such as terra moss.

From these two herbs is the foundation of all of wild magic, and as you collect more and more resources, you will be able to reignite latent plants.

For this reignition, you will generally need to combine five elements atop a Pyre. The Pyre is then lit, and the great heat causes a transformation.

The plant you receive may be converted to seed and immediately replanted on farmland, while other herbs (especially those closely in tune with the elements) require a special elemental soil.
