  • added platform abstractions for version ranges and dev env checks
  • added a test mod to check if everything works (I didn't add tests for mods being loaded or not, just @IfDevEnvironment)
  • converted the buildscripts to kotlin because groovy wouldn't work
  • updated gradle to 8.9

note that because this builds off Minecraft 1.20.6 (for neo/forge) it has to use java 21, if you want java 17 support then you'll need to downgrade to 1.20.2
