Installation and Updating

Follow these instructions to install Project Cog.

via Modrinth App (Recommmended)

Installing and Setting Up Modrinth App

1. Download the Modrinth App at modrinth.com.
2. Run the installer and follow the steps on screen.
3. Open the Modrinth App if it didn't automatically open after installation.
4. Click the Steve face at the top left corner, then click "Not Signed In".
5. A new tab will open in your browser. Go back to the Modrinth App and copy the code on screen.
6. Paste the code into the browser tab and continue to sign in as normal.

Installing Project Cog

1. Switch to the Browse (🔍) tab.
2. Search for "MeepishRealms".
3. Find "MeepishRealms Modded Expansion" and click Install.

Updating Project Cog

1. Click the MeepishRealms Modded Expansion profile.
2. Switch to the Options tab.
3. Scroll down until you find "Change Modpack Version", and click it.
4. Select the latest "Release" version.

Installing Curseforge

1. Download Curseforge at curseforge.com
2. Run the installer and follow the steps on screen.

Installing Project Cog

1. Download the latest Curseforge release from the Releases page.
2. In Curseforge, go to the Minecraft tab.
3. Click "Create Custom Profile".
4. Click "Import" at the top of the pop-up window.
5. Select the .zip file you downloaded and open it.
6. Click Play on the new profile.
7. Sign into your Microsoft account in the Minecraft Launcher if it asks you to.
8. Click Play in the Minecraft Launcher and ignore all warnings.

Updating Project Cog

• Curseforge does not support updates to Custom Profiles.
• To update, delete your current "Cog" profile, and repeat the instructions for Installing Project Cog for the first time.
• If you have any singleplayer worlds, you will not be able to transfer them unless you manually move the saves folder from your previous profile to your new one.

Installing and Setting up Prism Launcher

1. Download the Prism Launcher Installer (.exe or .msi) at prismlauncher.org.
2. Download Java 21 from oracle.com
3. If you're running Linux, download Prism Launcher from Flathub, it comes with both Prism and Java 21.
4. Run the Java 21 installer.
5. Run the Prism Launcher Installer.
6. During the setup, make sure you select Java 17, and set the maximum memory to at least 4096.
7. Once you reach the main screen, select the gray Steve face in the top right corner and add a new account.
8. Choose Add Microsoft on the right pane.
9. Follow the instructions on screen to sign in.

Installing Project Cog

1. On Prism Launcher, select "Add Instance".
2. Go to the "Modrinth" tab.
3. Search for "MeepishRealms".
4. Find "MeepishRealms Modded Expansion" and select it.
5. In the bottom right corner, select the latest [release] version.
6. Click "Okay".
7. Double Click the Instance to start playing.

Updating Project Cog

1. On Prism Launcher, right click your instance.
2. Click Edit.
3. Go to the "Modrinth" tab.
4. Select the latest [release] version.
5. Click "Update Pack".
