Installation

Prerequisites

• Qtile installed on your system.
• Python 3.x installed.
• Basic dependencies like rofi, dunst, and picom.

Steps

1. Clone this repository to your local machine:

   git clone https://github.com/KAPINTOM/my-qtile-config-file.git ~/.config/qtile

2. Backup your existing Qtile configuration (if any):

   mv ~/.config/qtile/config.py ~/.config/qtile/config.py.backup

3. Copy the configuration files to your Qtile directory:

   cp -r ~/.config/qtile/* ~/.config/qtile/

4. Restart Qtile to apply the new configuration:

   qtile cmd-obj -o cmd -f restart

Customization

This configuration is designed to be modular and easy to customize. Here are some tips:

• Keybindings: Edit the ~/.config/qtile/config.py file to modify or add keybindings.
• Theming: Adjust colors and styles in the ~/.config/qtile/theme.py file.
• Autostart: Add or remove applications in the ~/.config/qtile/autostart.sh script.
• Bar and Widgets: Customize the bar and widgets in the ~/.config/qtile/bars.py file.

Dependencies

This configuration relies on several external tools and utilities. Ensure you have the following installed:

• dunst: Notification daemon.
• picom: Compositor for transparency and shadows.
• feh: Wallpaper manager.
• nitrogen (optional): Alternative wallpaper manager.

Install them using your package manager:

sudo apt install qtile rofi dunst picom feh nitrogen

sudo pacman -Syu qtile rofi dunst picom feh nitrogen
