Strangely tests in 3.8+ stopping working. pytest is failing to find the collection of tests. Rerunning tests from yesterday (which passed) now fail in 3.8+. I'll merge, because locally all tests pass and this is some strange thing with pytest, and not the code. Pytest 8.0.0 was released today which much be the reason. Ironic they let this bug slip out. |

pytest can be a pain, that's for sure. btw, I have some additional amendments made in the issue thread which I believe fix the issue a little more elegantly, see the thread. |
