Descent 2 Workshop - v0.2.0
Minor update. Adds resampling options for sounds.
The blender example models and import script are included in this archive.
Descent 2 Workshop - v0.1.0
Things that are working:
- HAM editing
- PIG editing
- HOG editing and creation
- POG editing and creation
- SND editing and creation
- V-HAM viewing
- POF exporting from Blender. The importer script is included in the Blender directory in the archive, as well as sample data.
- Creation of BSP trees for models (needs further optimization, though)
Things that are mostly working:
- HXM editing and creation
- Sound importing (only supports 8-bit WAVs with specific sample rates)
- Undo and redo while editing files
Things that are not currently working:
- V-HAM editing and creation. (I recommend just editing DESCENT2.HAM)
Known problems:
- It is impossible to assign an animated texture to a model in a HXM file that isn't used by a model in the HAM file. There is no warning about this, so data can be lost.
- Animation and gun data can be lost if a model is orphaned. (not used by any robots)
- You cannot currently delete elements in a HXM file.
- Documentation is lacking. Most information about making models for Descent is included in the individual sample .blend files.
