I was going to link to the Apollo 3 announcement on our year in review. Here are some misc ideas I thought could help orient users

The large splash screen is great but an additional gallery page to https://apollo.jbrowse.org/blog (I find that the gallery on jbrowse can help quickly orient people)
Link to a live demo apollo instance (?)

I can see there is a "Try a Demo" instance here https://demo.apollo.jbrowse.org/?session=share-eZDit63bNm&password=Px6yn

It is hard for me to tell from the homepage though because I did not see the button

It might be good to have a dedicated "Demo(s)" tab in the header bar
