The drive ID is generated by a state machine and pushed to the input FIFO. The FIFO has to be read by the software. The software was only reading the FIFO in the DCD loop; however, with no DCD mounted, the FIFO would fill up cause the PICO to stop. The servicing of the FIFO was moved to the common loop service routine to solve this problem.
