Currently we have been working on getting Photon vision running on the orange pi 5. End goal is to get better performance and latency out of vision system along with enable the ability to detect notes in near real time.

We have run into a problem with the Object detection pipeline causing a kernel panic on the orange pi 5 NPU. This appears to be a known problem when we where running into it and it seems like Version v2024.3.1

  • Add simulation support for Note detection
  • Update Photon lib and Limelight firmware to match the required photon vison firmware required for the Orange pi 5 object detection.
  • Figure out Orange pi Mounting and Power requirements.
  • Figure out Object detection camera mounting location
  • Migrate over April tag processing from Limelight to OP5 ?
  • Write telop code that utilizes the information from object detection to aid in intake speed.
  • Clean up our vision code
  • Look into using this information to improve our auto routine reliability
