Hi there 👋

I'm Giulio (Italian: [ˈdʒuːljo]), a developer and application manager from Leiden, The Netherlands. I have a passion for Open Source and dabbling with (digitized!) medieval manuscripts.

📖 Fun fact: Dioscorides, my handle here on GitHub, is the Latinized form of the author of the first century CE Greek medical text, the De Materia Medica (Περὶ ὕλης ἰατρικῆς), which was the most widely used herbal until the 17th century. It is also a 10th century CE manuscript that I have worked on for my MA thesis. The name itself means "gift of Zeus".
