Plans for TEI Conference in Lyon

Here's a rough outline that we can all keep modifying as we're preparing for our presentation. Please modify this at will. I just wanted to put something up here to get us rolling...

  • Erica will launch this by talking about annotation in digital archives--basic issues and things we could be doing with digital projects (?)
  • Elisa had probably better briefly introduce the Mitford project: general intro as database of information to be pulled from letters and literary texts. Comment on our test bed collection, and our eXist database.
  • Molly talks about the TEI code, and introduces the phenomenal Miss James. Perhaps she discusses the team effort to prep our letters for accuracy and data collection. We should show some code here: screen captures from oXygen might work though you might tinker with copy and paste into a slide.
  • Erica talks about the annotation tool: What this is for, how it can work.
  • Erica and Elisa talk about about the XQuery to SVG work: Elisa can probably talk through some of the data extraction.
  • We present our data visualizations (we will have them!): How do these work, how this will help our project and potentially other projects like ours.
