• cloud-init with a default configuration /boot/user-data file
  • hostname: black-pearl
  • username: pirate

• cloud-init, examples included in default user-data file
  • WiFi configuration
  • set system locale
  • set timezone
  • update/upgrade APT packages
  • install additional APT packages
  • run additional commands at first boot only
