Core metadata fields

For each contribution that is submitted via the Contribution Tool, a basic set of core metadata needs to be provided. These core metadata are publicly visible on the main page of the Contribution Tool, except for the 'cost (total)' field and the 'cost (description)' field. In the table below, each core metadata field is described in more detail.

Country | Country that submits the contribution. It is not (yet) possible to enter multiple countries. If a contributions is an international collaboration, please enter the country that administers the project. Alternatively, each country could submit a sub-part of the collaborative project as a separate contribution. | country |
VCC | Virtual Competency Centre whose competence corresponds to the contribution. The value in this field is used by the CIO to assign reviewers with the adequate expertise to review this particular contribution. If the contribution concerns the time invested in a Working Group (e.g. by Working Group Chairs), choose 'Working Group'. If the contribution concerns DARIAH Coordination in general (e.g. the work of VCC Chairs, participation in one of the central bodies, etc.), choose 'Coordination'. | vcc |
Type | Contributions break down into two main categories – services and activities – each of which is further subdivided into specific types. cost (total) | The total cost in Euro's incurred to create the contribution (see page 38 of De Leeuw et al. 2017) . This field is not publicly visible, but can only be seen by the creator of a contribution record as well as by the NC of the country that submits the particular contribution. | number |
