Reset Factory
Minecraft 1.8 and subsequent releases represent significant alterations to enchanting and repairing. Specifically, enchanting became much cheaper, but repair more rapidly becomes impossible, leading to greater tool churn as they become irreparable within 5 repairs.
As these changes would represent an incredible sea change in tool, weapon, and armor markets within Civcraft, this factory was introduced to allow longer-term use of critical tools and arms by resetting their internal exponential repair counter.
-
This does NOT repair tools; it simply resets the internal repair counter.
-
You will get maximum value from this factory if you've repaired each tool on an anvil at least a few times, and fill the chest connected to the factory with tools which all require resets.
-
Reset at least 2 items at a time (under current balance) assuming you've repaired them 5 times.
To install, you need 4 stacks of (256) coal ore, 16 redstone ore, 16 iron ore, 16 diamond ore, and 16 emerald blocks.
To repair fully, it will cost 20 coal ore, 2 redstone ore, 2 iron ore, 2 diamond ore, and 2 emerald blocks.
Regardless of number of tools in the chest, each "reset" operation costs 7 Emerald Blocks. This is to target 1.5x cost of repairing a single high-tier tool or weapon from 1.7 relative to 1.8 costs. This is per TTK's initial "get it out the door" directive.
How to use:
- Put 7 Emerald Blocks in the chest
- Put up to 53 tools in the chest (if a doublechest factory)
- Put charcoal in the furnace
- Ensure or switch recipe to Reset Items mode (hit crafting table with stick)
- Activate the factory (hit furnace with stick)
- Wait until it is done (check progress by hitting chest with stick)
