NOTE: The below issue has been fixed as of EmuDeck 2.3 and only applies to prior releases.

ChimeraOS includes its own version of retroarch. By default, EmuDeck's EmulationStation-DE will include the ChimeraOS version in its search path when it needs to start a retroarch emulation core. Under certain conditions this can lead to ES-DE launching ChimeraOS's version of retroarch instead of EmuDeck's, which prevents the desired settings and configs from being loaded.

This can be prevented with a simple workaround. Remove the entry in ES-DE's es_find_rules.xml that allows it to find ChimeraOS's default version of retroarch. This file can be found at /home/gamer/ES-DE/custom_systems/es_find_rules.xml
