Using meshlab

Get meshlab from their website
http://meshlab.sourceforge.net/
You can use meshlab to center the model or remove unwanted bits from it. Or it could be used to optimize your model to reduce its filesize.
If your model looks fullbright it's probably lacking normals. To fix this open your model in meshlab and do this:
