Chassis_and_3D_Printed_Parts.md
To accommodate the new sensors and systems, a new upper chassis was designed. We utilized inserts that are heat pressed into the 3D printed parts and primarily used PETG material for its known durability and reliability.
Platform holes are M3 threaded, having 30mm pitch in line. To reach smaller pitch, one can use the diagonal holes. Threads are screwable from both above and below of the platform. Any other dimensions and other details can be found in platform sketch, see below section.
Both the platform and any other part belonging to this project (F1Tenth CTU) can be found in Fusion 360 university cloud. Ask mr. Zahradka or your supervisor to obtain the access.
Several custom parts were 3D printed to support the new chassis design:
- platform - modular platform acommodating other part
- battery pocket - battery holder mounted from below of the platform
- cam holder - holder for the LiDAR depth camera
- lidar base - front planar lidar platform
- VAICON adapter mounts - mounts holding the VAICON speed control board
- xavier and jetson adapters
- antena holder
- Addition of inserts directly to the chassis.
- Diagrams and photos of the assembly process.
