A self-service kiosk and inventory management system for Panda Express.
This project is a streamlined solution for managing orders, inventory, and employee data. It includes a customer-facing kiosk, cashier and manager interfaces, and a centralized database for seamless communication between components.
- Customer View (Kiosk): Self-service interface for placing orders and payments.
- Cashier View: Point-of-sales system for handling transactions.
- Manager View: Tools for inventory and employee management, and sales reports.
- Menu Board: Displays real-time item availability and pricing.
- Database: Stores and manages all system data.
- Clone the repository:

- Install dependencies:
npm install
- make sure to install in the my-app and backend directories
- Start the application:
npm run dev
The system is built using the PERN tech stack and consists of the following components:

Frontend:
The Customer, Cashier, and Manager Views are developed using React.js for building dynamic and interactive user interfaces. -
Backend:
The backend is powered by Node.js and Express.js to provide API services for data management and communication with the frontend and database. -
Database:
Uses PostgreSQL as the relational database to store and manage all system data, including inventory, employee records, orders, and transactions. -
External APIs:
External APIs are integrated for:- Authentication (e.g., OAuth or third-party login services).
- Accessibility features such as website translation.
- Providing contextual information like weather data.
- Deploy the system in Panda Express to manage sales, orders, and inventory.
- Use the self-service kiosk to reduce customer wait times.
