This is a call to other developers. If you might be interested in continuing development of Zindus I would love to help.

I doubt I will have time to contribute code as I am overflowing with projects as is, but I would like to donate money towards getting this addon back up and running in Thunderbird 24. Is there currently a way to donate? Ideally we would use one of the feature bounty sites that pays on completion.

From a brief glance over the code, this looks like a task a single programmer could complete in a week or two of free time. Not clear to me how work could be divided between several programmers.

Let's look at pooling funds at bribe.IO to get this started. (This site I understand will be launching so time next month.) I am willing to help also.

hi, i'd like to know if there was any advance on this. i'm looking for a solution to use thunderbird with zimbra and this extensions seems the best option out there.

I personally switched to using ownCloud to store my contacts and calendar. To sync with Thunderbird I use the Inverse SOGo Connector & Integrator addons, which can handle most CalDav or CardDav servers. They may work with Zimbra as well if it provides those protocols.

@holocronweaver not sure if you looked into Docker, it would be a turn key solution a small learning curve but super powerful as it would separate the system state from the data making changes and updates to the system easy and quick. Check this out: https://github.com/lava/dockermail
