is anyone getting excessive usage of memory

I just got zellij killed by oom killer. I've also seen it reach multiple-gb of usage. I think this happens because I tend to have lots of logs, but I expected them to get removed from ram since I can only go so far back.

Here is my config:

I had to shut down zellij today because it was at a barely believable 4gb of RAM usage. Three instances of NeoVim running Latex, and a C project. Shut down and restarted all of them outside of Zellilj and my overall system resource usage is sane again. Not sure what is happening though.

@tlinford - when you have the chance, it might be a good idea to look into jemalloc again

Same issue. Went up to about 26G usage for me. There is #1625. Really want to use zellij but sadly back to tmux for me.

Just for reference, because I find accuracy important - with this kind of runaway utilization, I very much doubt you're talking about the only viable reproduction in #1625 (unless you went back in time and ran it continuously for longer than Zellij exists :)).

Regardless - Zellij is classified as a beta and as such has and will continue to have similar issues until it is fully stabilized and classified otherwise. If this is not for you, I would strongly encourage you to use whatever other software makes you happy. Thanks for chiming in.

Yes I'm probably looking at the wrong metric, as even though the numbers seemed high I didn't get any OOM, slowness, etc. I noticed the virtual memory size being high, but perhaps this is not really an issue. The RSS hasn't gotten too high for me in v0.37.2.

For the time being, I plugged the only reproducible memory leak I could find here: #2675

It will be released with the next version. I'm closing this for now - if anyone else is experiencing issues, please open a new issue.
