one thing that has really annoyed me in vs code or intellij is that accepting a code completion while the cursor is mid word will insert the whole suggestion there and ruin the whole idea of completion. To get a better idea of what I mean, see this: Screen.Recording.2022-06-25.at.12.51.13.AM.movI love that zed is smarter and completes the word correctly. |

Pretty sure it is a custom font called Zed Mono, it is basically just a custom configuration of Iosevka. |

Super great how you guys have opened up the issue list and are open to input and feedback! I can't wait for linux support and I can start using it. VScode and idea suite tools are memory hogs and extremely slow... can't wait for the responsiveness and light-weight experience that zed will deliver. |

With Zed, writing code is an absolute pleasure. Its snappy interactions and lean UI help me focus on bringing ideas into reality. Having an editor that doesn't get in your way feels like having superpowers - it's like having a thin layer between my brain and the computer. Discovering the journal was also mind-blowing; now, I have one reason less to move away from the editor, which massively helps battle context-switching. I almost entirely switched from VSCode to Zed in the past few weeks. I can use Zed for everything, but I still rely on VSCode for a few nits:

Even in the current state I'm really really REALLY happy using Zed. Everything is so lightweight and fast that I can't believe. I've turn the vim mode on and switch completely from neovim and VSCode. Thank you so much for this editor, I want to pay to use it! |

Startup-speed and LSP's responsiveness are simply amazing and since I am a sucker for looks, I'd also like to give props for making it look and feel so polished already! (including the nice little touch with rounded selected area highlights). Love that it's not forcing me to open a "project" so I can just open random files. |

The speed is honestly amazing. I don't really use macOS and the only machine I have is really rather slow (2014 vintage mac mini). Atom or VSCodium take sometimes >30s to load, Zed pops up in less than 5. |

I love ZED for various reasons:
I try to use it now on a daily basis to get really used to it. Hope it will soon replace CLion with RustPlugin / RustRover completely. I am currently only missing my personal color-scheme 😉. ZED is great ! ❤️ |

Oh I am impressed, Zed really looks and feels awesome! I have some reeeaaally big generated code files (9 MB a single file for example) and syntax highlighting is there almost immediately, scrolling is snappy as ever, it just works :D In VSCode I have to wait quite a bit until I can do anything in the file and then it is laggy as hell. Also already quite a few features, mostly everything configurable, awesome! Keep up the good work! :) 🚀 |

I'm really impressed with Zed so far! There's quite a lot here for how young the project seems, it's very usable. The snappiness really is palpable. I like the visual design too, it's a great balance between sleek/focusing and friendly/discoverable, leaning more into the former IMO. I'm also really grateful for first-class Vim support. I know there's plenty more to implement, but I appreciate that it integrates with Zed more directly than e.g. VSCodeVim. I think it's great that 🚀 |

The Zed editor is fantastic. I'm working with React, Next.js, and TypeScript, and the Zed editor is amazing for me. I will replace VS Code with Zed soon. One thing I haven't figured out yet is how to change the inlay hints color. |

I've done it by modifying the theme directly as below, but it's not ideal. When the theme gets updated by the extension, this change will be discarded, so you may want to create your own custom theme based on whatever you are using. 
I'm just starting to play with Zed so I'm not sure if there is a better way to create an override for an extension-based theme. Would be nice. |

I love the fact that it's not Electron garbage, and that it's bloody fast to open, every keystroke, and to close. 🙏 I also love that even though the SSH/remote dev feature is in alpha, it already works better than VS Code for most uses - it's literally 10x as fast, or more. Worked first time, beautifully. 🥇 |

As a beginner coder, the Zed editor has made a real impact on my coding experience and saved me a ton of money as well! Zed is incredibly lightweight and efficient, which has been a savior for my aging hardware. I was able to transition from VS Code seamlessly, saving me both time and the cost of upgrading my equipment. I really appreciate that it runs on older computers like mine. As a coding learner, the integration of the OpenAI API has streamlined my coding workflow. Being able to chat with ChatGPT directly in the sidebar has eliminated the need to switch context, which has boosted my productivity. I appreciate the ease of access, as well as the fact that using the API is much cheaper than paying for ChatGPT Plus. The UI is simple and intuitive if your first editor was VS Code. The interface is clean and the whole thing gets out of the way. The linters beautify my code so that it looks way better than what I had typed. I keep note of the changes after hitting save so that I can follow the linting principles in my own coding. When I saw this discussion thread, I had to post to tell the developers and all the contributors how much I appreciate their work. |

I LOVE ZED. Once in a while we get some excellent product in the tech arena. ZED is one of them. I even created a ZED theme on VScode https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=ARRRRNY.zed-one-theme which I barely use only when I have to for some extensions. I am using my ZED editor on a 4K vertical 27" monitor and I enjoy coding for hours daily. Assistant Panel is amazing to use. Great job TEAM!

I really appreciate how fast this is! It's not like I need it to be 100x faster than my brain can process, but that's what makes it art. Computers are amazing, but code gets worse just as fast as they improve. It's hard to believe just how amazing computers could be if the code values of the past (optimization) were applied to the hardware of today (also optimization, but takes longer). I didn't have to search for answers to much of anything while setting Zed up, it mostly just worked out of the box. There were some issues I ran into with the default settings, and every one of them I was able to disable by reading over the settings. Open source is great. I've never actually had a feature request be given a positive response, but at least I can imagine some day having the time to do it myself. And it's a sign of tegridy. And I know this is one of the lowliest of compliments imaginable, but it's also not Microsoft! :p More importantly, it's a step away from the hyper centralization of heartless conglomerates that exist to hoard resources. Starting with my CPU! |
