ZBM Hangs at "Tearing down USB controller ..." #683
-
Hello, thank you for the project. I have been using ZBM with no issues on my Framework 13 12th gen for well over a year now. I recently got a brand new Dell Precision 3591. I have Arch Linux installed on ZFS on this new machine and seemingly randomly, ZBM appears to hang after I select a boot environment. I've tried many combinations of kernel parameters, but the same thing still appears to happen. It's very strange. This is on kernel 6.11.3. Is there a way to have ZBM be more verbose on what's going on after you select a boot environment? Any other ideas on what might be causing this? |

Ok, so, I think I finally figured this out. It appears that the most recent configuration of mkinitcpio in Arch added the "microcode" hook. That hook was present on my new install and not on my old one. Once I removed that hook and recompiled the initramfs, my new machine seems to be booting reliably now. Not sure why having the microcode in the initramfs was causing this, but it seemed to be the issue for me. With how recent the processor is in that new machine, I guess I'm not surprised that there might be some kinks to work out yet. |
