Has adding a setup.py to turn this project into an installable module been considered? I believe this would be useful for developers (such as myself) working on projects that utilize this simulator.

You're the first one that asked for this, so I can't say I've considered it previously. If you submit a pull request I'd be happy to look into this. Otherwise, hopefully the README is simple enough to set up without a package.
