Consider adding the ability to limit recursion into submodules

I'd love an easy way to only search-and-replace files that are in my current git project without recursing into submodules. I realize this is a pretty git-specific feature, but perhaps others would find this useful!

I'm also curious if others have scripting tricks they use to limit recursion into submodules 😄
