We switched from npx patch-package to yarn patching, but there is one crucial deficiency of yarn patching. When a patch no longer applies for whatever reason, it just silently does not apply. This causes all manner of failures (depending on the patch) and costs a great deal of developer time. How can we make it clearer when patches have been misconfigured?
