I pushed a first version (0.0.1) to JCenter and Maven Central. Please give it a try and tell me if it works.

Works for me - I set up an example using Gradle on my public, for anyone interested.
Sorry about the necro - I found it non-trivial to get going so I wanted to share.

Looks like we should package the sources into the jar since this library is
meant for consumption by GWT. Does that sound like a good idea?

Sure, although I don't have much GWT experience yet so I don't know what the norm is.
Also the version of Xtend it pulls transitively is pretty old. (Edit: For some reason I thought it was pulling a 2.8.x version but this doesn't seem to be the case.)
