xcube viewer first loading gives the impression of nothing happening

When an xcube viewer is configured with a xcube server containing a long list of datasets, it may take quite some time for the initial loading of the datasets. The Please Wait...Loading Data Info-Popup only appears for a very short time and then an empty world map is shown.

This gives the user the impression, that there is no data available and nothing further will be happening.

The Please Wait...Loading Data should remain until the datasets are visible and can be selected.

This also happens, when I hit the browser refresh button. I see in the logs, that the datastets are being loaded, but no Please Wait...Loading Data is visible.

Is this new (at least I don't remember this begaviour)? Which version?
