We want links around the web that go to URLs on the old site to return useful content. We can solve this by a combination of setting up redirects to new pages and by matching the old URL scheme were appropriate.

All of the old URLs should either get a page with similar content to the original content or should do a permanent-redirect to a page with that content.

From a quick google, it looks like octopress doesn't have a built-in way of doing redirects and neither does gh-pages. Looks like URL schema matching might be the only way to do this?

A quick Google search gave this: http://adamwiggall.com/blog/2012/01/05/redirects-octopress-and-heroku
