Creating this issue for clarity. If you use Linux and Firefox is installed via Snap, web-ext may not be able to open the browser for you. You may run into the following error:

"Profile Missing - Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."

Solution, just re-install firefox, but not through snap:
