Can anyone explain wth. I was attempting to debug some product attributes goog merchant says is preventing my products from showing. When i go look i find out google-listings-and-ads is said to work also, but when i look in wordpress for the plugin it's not there. then more digging shows that Google for Woocommerce is in the official wordpress plugin search, but AI tells me Google for woocommerce was previously google-listings-and-ads...
Cant this repo just be rename to avoid confusion?

That's correct the extension name was rebranded from "Google Listings & Ads" to "Google for WooCommerce". This was done with the release of version 2.8.0.
A WordPress plugin has both a name and a slug. Changing the name can be done when a plugin is rebranded, however changing a WordPress slug is a not commonly done, as it's considered a completely different plugin to WordPress. So as such we decided to keep the slug as it was google-listings-and-ads. Since this repo is used to manage the released version of the plugin on WordPress.org: https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-listings-and-ads/
We would also like to keep the repo name in sync with the WordPress plugin.
