Fig uses an MIT License. What is stopping someone from forking this project, making required changes, re-releasing under a new name and as a new OSS + commercial offering?

Lack of source? This is just an issue tracker. Amazon now owns the code.

Hm, they should not have forbidden access to the last publicly available source while was still MIT, should they?

It would be nice to have a community fork version it was such a nice tool.
