Right now it seems like clicking multiple times puts outlines on the outlines

Was about to post the same. A second click should remove the outlines

@TheTedAdams yes, I'll be working on this next. The extension currently mutates the DOM so there are some challenges in resetting it back to the original state. Just trying to figure out the best way to do this.
